Last newsletter we reported on the dinner held at Wartook to celebrate our anniversary and publicised the proposed walk via the Pinnacle on the actual proclamation date. The walk didn’t eventuate due to weather and a swine flu alert in the Park office. So the new track opened without fanfare. The Grampians Wildflower Show in Halls Gap (October1 to 4) will have a 25 year display, both of the GNP and of FOGG. Please, if you have interesting anecdotes or historical documents and photos do contact me, Margo. I have a few more photos already to add to the slide show that’s up on the web, and on our digital frame.
A few emails came in about our 25 years from old friends:
1. ……. I hope you all have a great time, FOGG’s is one of those unique groups with really motivated people doing a fantastic job for the Grampians.
Please pass on my best wishes to them all.
Many thanks

2 …….. Can I add that FOGGS has made a huge contribution to the management of the park over the years, both through its tireless efforts on the ground and its contributions by way of advice, recommendations, lobbying, whatever you call it.
Its passion for protecting and enhancing the most important aspect of the Grampians, its flora and fauna, shines through in a world where competing interests often distract management. After all, the National Parks Act has as its primary objective the protection and preservation of the natural environment, everything else comes behind that.
As a past Convenor of the Grampians Advisory Committee I am very aware of the contribution made by FOGGS and salute them on their achievement. Lets hope the next 25 years sees FOGGS go from strength to strength!

3 …….Please pass on my congratulations to the Friends. ………..
I am sure it will be a great evening and I remember fondly my early days when Margo & Kees, Sue McInnes, Janet Witham, David Thompson and I used to get together for planning the year ahead… seems soo long ago. Well, 25 years I guess.
Have a great night and please pass on my apologies.
