RECENT TRACK OPENINGS

Temporary Easter Openings: Halls Gap to Pinnacle Lookout and Silverband Falls Walking Tracks.
Parks Victoria has worked hard to provide access to two walks in the Wonderland Range for visitors during the Easter break. These walks have been built for temporary access and will be closed at some stage after Easter to restore the tracks to their original standard.

Date set for VICROADS bus tour

The tour will run for approximately three hours and will take you to a number of key sites that were impacted by the January floods. At this point in time we have not confirmed which sites will be visited.

VicRoads representatives will be available to answer any questions you may have throughout the tour.

Time: 1.00pm – 4.00pm
Pick up / drop off: Brambuk Cultural Centre, 277 Grampians Road, Halls Gap (Parking on site)
Dress: Sensible walking shoes with good grip, long pants and light raincoat

PROVISIONAL CALENDAR

Please bear in mind that changes may need to be made, and some dates couldn’t be settled before going to print. Park staff are working so hard to get things open. Changes will be emailed to those who have provided us with a current address and also put up on the website. But please also ring the listed contact person to find when it is on and to let them know you are coming.

Stripped of the black coats
with which fire clothed them
saplings stand bared
to wind rain and sun
shining white knights
or deadly silver swords
to fight the elements

WEB SITE NEWS

Frank Van der Peet continues to help with the web site from down on the coast. We had a rash of inquiries after the flood, some offering to help, some asking where they could camp, whether they could bring horses in etc. Just last week we had an odd one, where someone misheard an ABC news item and thought we had stranded starving wallabies. While I was scratching my head, Frank twigged that it was the Kimberleys, not the Grampians!
